So I'm building a gaming system before I head off to University in Sept. I have every part bought except the Video Card.

I'm using a netbook ATM, so no gaming, would like to finish this build.

The video cards I'm looking at are the

ATI 5850
ATI 5870

nVidia 470 GTX
nVidia 480 GTX

Now, I want one the best bang for my buck here, and a dependable brand name.

For ATI, what is the absolute best card manufacturer?

For nVidia, being in Canada, ATM I can only pre-order an ASUS 470/480

Money isn't really an issue, though 50$ for ~3 FPS isn't worth it.

I'd want a video card that could run Crysis at full, (AA minimum, no biggy if it isn't)

I'll buy from newegg.ca tigerdirect.ca or ncix Canada, so my options are a bit limited.

I'd like to get some ideas goin', thanks!

I just build my system about 2 months ago. i got every thing but ram and PSU. under 450US.
I use a 100% amd rig and i enjoy the power for the price with the 5770 and 965 Black.

So i think the 5850 or the 5870 would be good card.
But bang or the buck the 5850.

I will install Crysis tonight and see the frames i can get out of it on the 5770.

I have the 5850's in Crossfire, and love them....Do I need the Crossfire? Nope...One card handles everything I throw at it and then some. You won't be dissappointed...
