I'm building a new rig and I would love to hear your opinions on a few things :)

I'm using components from my old PC for the rest, CORSAIR 750W PSU, 4870x2 and Thermaltake Element G case.

I had to change to the Ripjaws because the heatspreaders may conflict with the Noctua, but those seem to be solid, what do you guys think of this build? anything better I can get for the same price etc? I'm planning to OC my i7 950 to 4GHz.

Looks pretty good, I can not see anything critically wrong with your choices. Just make sure your case fans are up to the task. What do you plan to do with it?

Someone did their research ^_^.

Great build, the only differences between that and what would choose are all motivated by brand loyalty.

i apologize for invading this thread but i'd like to ask a question: i'm trying to go with something just a little cheaper, so i can also add a video card for the total of around $900. i'd be using it mostly for adobe premiere, photoshop and some gaming of course. i might oc just a little, but not overly crazy about it.

is there a point to go cheaper and is this combo here top-of-the-line or best-per-dollar type of a deal?
