Ok, so currently I am running the Mushkin Blackline 2x1GB DDR2 1066 dual channel kit.. I was in the market to add another 2x1GB but unfortunately, Mushkin has discontinued this model and I can no longer purchase a set of these.
Instead I saw on Newegg that there is a G.Skill 2x1GB DDR2 1066 Dual channel kit with the exact same specs 5-5-5-15, running the same voltage specs at 2.0-2.1v..
Has anyone ever mixed and matched 2 different sets of brand RAM and made it work fine?

Here are the 2 links in case you guys want to take a look:
Mushkin:

G.SKILL:

Also on a side note.. I have already contacted both manufacturers, and while G.SKILL wasn't much help, Mushkin assumed that since specs were similar they should work.. Any ideas?

Having the same timing specs doesn't really mean much. Different memory modules even from the same manufacturer rarely play well together.

i know the 2gbpk's are pretty good sticks. i'd feel safe saying they will run stock perfectly fine with the mushkins, but they may not overclock the same.

instead of running 4 sticks of 1gb, you may want to consider running 2x2gb, also. I know its more expensive but its less stress on the system.

edit: ^^ also true, there is no guarantee that they will work without any hiccups
