Hi guys, well i recently bought RAM on newegg.com(G.skill ripjaws 4gb ddr3 1600 MHz PS3-12800 240 pins)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277

I was wondering on your thoughts of this specific type of RAM.
I was also wondering how is should place the RAM sticks(im new sorry). i have 6 slots open, motherboard: Dell inc 0R849J version A01 and i think it looks like this

http://www.esaitech.com/objects/catalog/product/image/img54662.jpg

i currently already have 4 gb ddr3 PS3-8500 stocked. and its placed like this: 1 x 1 x 1 1. (1 is the ram sticks, x are empty.), should i just put it in the empty spots or reorganized them? will my stock 4gb ddr3 8500 work with my bought 12800?

I think you should have bought a proper 6gb 3 stick kit and got rid of the rest. Sounds like Dell screwed you from the start. Optimal performance on that board will be with either 3 sticks or 6 sticks...not 2, 4, or 5. I'm a little confused actually. I hope they work... because they may not like playing nice with your existing RAM.

They discontinued my model of cpu. i have a studio xps 435 mt. it has an i7 920 2.67ghz, 4gb ddr3 ps3-8500 533 MHz(1066), stock ATI radeon hd 4850, 640 GB memory and came with a 24" monitor, and a printer. it WAS on vista 64

Im gonna agree with Xoke on this one, you have dual channel RAM and you should be using triple channel RAM for best performance. If you can return the RAM and exchange it for say 6gig of triple channel RAM you would be a lot better off and just remove the existing ram that is in there now.

Dell is a pain in the butt when it comes to RAM also, I had a B110 and it was extremely picky about what RAM it would accept so be careful when ordering RAM for it and make sure you do some reading where others have been able to successfully use what every RAM you get with your system. I know on the one I had Dell had it setup to where I had to use low density low voltage ram to even get it to work but this was an older dual channel board.
