saving programs during windows reinstallation

Is there any way to save my programs that are on my C:/ drive? I'm going to re format and re install windows. Should I just copy over my program files to my second drive that has most of my other programs on it?

-Thanks

Most programs probably won't work correctly after doing that. Registry entries and other misc. stuff scattered all over.

Look into partitioning your hard drive and imaging your operating system partition so that when something goes wrong in the future, you can reimage your OS partition to the state when everything was set up just like you wanted it to be.
