Hi, first of all, i'm not native english speaker so excuse me if my english is crap, i can try to explain what i'm saying if you don't understand :)

There's my specs:

Q8200 with Cooler master HyperTX3
Asus P5N-D
Dell HD4870 PCS
2x2GO corsair XMS2 dual channel DDR2-800
Windows 7 pro 64bit
Alim corsair 550W

So, i've completed overclocking my Q8200 to 3ghz, set the FSB on 1730 and let the ram on 800. my core voltage is 1.34 on CPU-Z, 1,36125 through the bios.

I've tested my cpu on OCCT's CPU linpack during 9H, here's the screens:

2010122609h39cpu2.png

2010122609h39cpu3.png

2010122609h39cpu4.png

2010122609h39vcore.png

So, after i was thinking "fine! i've completed it!" but there's some random crashes during games or even on windows :/, my question is: do you know why it's crashing so often? maybe my ram not overclocked?

.

What are the RAMs rated timings and voltage at 400MHz, what are they set at currently, and does Memtest86+ pass at those settings? And when you say Windows crashes what happens exactly... BSOD, lock-up, reboot, etc.? If the crashes are BSOD related, then what are the exact error messages, either viewed in the blue screens or the Event Viewer logs?

The ram rated timings are 5-5-5-18 @ 400mhz

the ram through CPU-Z

The PC reboots during game, and BSOD happen when through windows

I have some crashes logs through eventviewer, i'll post soon when a BSOD appear.

Thanks for help

yeah it's a good question.. since i didn't touch anything concerning the RAM :/

Yesterday i changed the tRAS clocks from Auto to 18 in the bios, so now CPU-Z shows properly 18clocks

Anyway, my computer just crashed after launching Warhead, that was a simple reboot.

I took this log from the windows event viewer, sorry i'm not used to find them so i don't know if it's this log that you need, i took it from the critical error reports:

If you need further informations, let me know.

What's the rated RAM voltage, what's it currently set to, and does Memtest86+ pass without errors at 5-5-5-18?

Overview

The CM2X2048-6400C5 G is a 2048MByte DDR2 SDRAM DIMM. This part delivers outstanding performance in the latest generation of dual-channel DDR2-based motherboards. It has been tested extensively in multiple DDR2 motherboards to ensure compatibility and performance at its rated speed. This memory has been veried to operate at 800MHz at the low latencies of 5-5-5-18.

TEST SPECS
• Each module is tested at 800MHz
• Tested and packaged immediately following system test
• Tested at JEDEC standard latency settings (5-5-5-18) at 1.9V
• SPD programmed at:
• JEDEC standard 5-5-5-18 values at 800MHz

FEATURES
• 2048 Megabytes of DDR2 memory
• 100% tested at 800MHz in high performance DDR2 motherboards
• Legendary Corsair reliability and service

So apparently it's 1.9V, CPU-Z is showing that my ram has a voltage of 1.8V, i'll set it to 1.9V in the bios.

I've never done any memtest in my life, so i'll see how it works and i'll report you the results of the test.

Again, thanks for your help, thanks to you i have finally something to do in order to -maybe- set this pc to something rockstable. :)

Okay memtest86+ done, that seems okay, i was at pass 8 when i stopped the test.

Another question: the temps.

Core 1: 57
Core 2: 49
Core 3: 53
Core 4: 54

At idle with stock settings (not overclocked)

Isn't this ****ing too high for a Cooler master hyper212 and Artic silver 5?
