Hi guys, after the encouragement from other sections in the forums, I have been trying to oc my cpu. I have spent 16 hours trying to get a stable 4GHz from my i7 960 using the asus raampage ii formula.

I just haven't found anything stable with this mobo. If anyone has any guide for this perticular mob and cpu pair that would be amazing.

Thanks

Bios settings?

For my R3F and i7 950 4ghz is quite simple.
blk-191
multi-21
vcore-1.28v
dram-1.65v
llc-50%

I normally can everything else at stock voltage (not auto).
Make sure your ram isnt getting a crazy OC when you change the blk.
You can also try multi @ 22 and blk @ 182 for 4ghz

I am running a prime 95 test on my rig atm and the settings for this are as follows:

core speed: 4011MHz
multiplier x23
bus speed: 174.4
QPI link 3139.3 MHz
core voltage: 1.28v

I am posting from my laptop if anyone was wondering...

I would like to also ask if my temps are appripriate for the load. as before its a i7 960 oc to 4GHz. Using the corsair h70 cpu cooler, I am getting 70 degrees on 100% load.

prime 95 test just hit the hour mark for these temps.
