Do the desktop resoloution and colour depth affect the default 3d mark scores.

Eg. my system is at 1280 x 960 32 would this affect a 1024 x 768 32 benchmark ??
 
I don't see any reason why it should alter it. It should only matter on your 3D settings. Your 2D res and color depth have nothing to do with 3D.
 
I asked because a year or two ago I could have sworn that i saw something saying the opposite at ......... I think ......... Tomshardware Guide.
 
Nope, it's gonna change to whatever you set it to in 3DMarks2k1. But if you have wallpaper, it might effect the performance a little by eating up some RAM :)
 
Possibly, but since 3dMark takes up the whole screen, as long as you don't move the mouse it should be fine (assuming you were talking about animated icons).
