Question on Asus M5A97 PRO AMD 970 AM3+

I'm not "brillant" with computers and this probably seems like a real noob of a question to you guys :L
Just wondering what is the difference with all these different slots. Obviously some are for GFX, Sound and Network cards. Could somone just tell me which each one supports please

1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (blue)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black)
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1
2 x PCI

1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (blue) = Video at x16
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) = Mostly Video at x4
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 = 2 PCIe at x1 speed.
2 x PCI = 2 PCI slots for PCI use.

1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) ? I heard that it if you put a card in that slot, it dosen't run at its full potential?
