I'm about to order components for an Opteron 6212 server build and would like some suggestions on a heatsink/fan.
The server is going to be a VMWare ESXi hypervisor that will be hosting anywhere between 4-8 Win2k8R2 and Win7 guest OS's. It will primarily be purposed for training for the foreseeable future and will likely not be stood up for 24/7 runtime.
I'm looking for a cooling system that's quiet and has a low energy footprint. I've picked out this case; I do not intend to add any additional case fans.
I'll probably settle on the Noctua NH-U9DO if I cannot find any good alternatives, however it is a bit pricey and I would like to find something less expensive.
