So, I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on a new water-cooling loop. Here is the computer I am putting it on:

Motherboard – Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z

CPU – Intel 2600K

Memory – Corsair Vengeance 16GB

Cooling – Stock right now

SSD’s – (2) OCZ Vertex 3 MI 120 GB

Case - Corsair 800D

Here are the parts for the loop I have planned:

Radiator – XSPC RX360 – http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/xsrx3xrare2.html

Fans – Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...500_RPM_-_8-24_dBA.html?id=VQq7g9Ye&mv_pc=851

Reservoir – XSPC Bay Reservior - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...Clear_Silver_Black.html?id=VQq7g9Ye&mv_pc=852

Pump – Swiftech MCP655 with speed control - http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swmc12vdcpu.html

Tubing – PrimoChill PrimoFlex ½ ID ¾ OD - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1..._Red_PFLEXP10-34-R.html?id=VQq7g9Ye&mv_pc=847

Fittings – Bitspower Ultimate Compression Fittings - http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/bimabl7cofif1.html and http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/biduro45deco1.html for the CPU Block

Liquid – Distilled Water

CPU Block – Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos HF - http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/aqcocukrrfso.html

Videocard/Block - GTX 580 - http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/evgegtx580li.html

So the loop is obviously going to be for the 2600k and GTX 580. My goal is to keep the computer quite, while still getting a good overclock. Any thoughts or recommendations before I order would be greatly appreciated!

Hi ChrisK41

i couldnt get any of the frozen cpu links work.

But regarding fans, NB pro have 900rpm and 1400rmp at frozen that I saw, and 1400 rpm was out of stock. Unless I missed something.

Most people that go for silence, get 1600-1800 rpm fans and run them at full speed while stress testing their overclock, then use fan controller to decrease the speed to ~900 -1000 rpms rest of time for quiet, and useful to decrease speed of all fans in computer.

Thanks for the info, and sorry about the links, I swear they worked when I posted them. Anyway I re-pasted all the frozen links so they should work now.

As far as the fan goes - It's a 600-1500 rpm PWM fan. From what I understand I should be able to use the mobo as the fan controler and set the fans to spin up with the temp's. I figured that would keep it the quietiest since I would only be using as much fan as needed.

Thanks again for the help.

I find everything perfect except the fans. I'd go with the GT AP15 / AP14, they're way better fans than the BlackSilentPRO. I had both, and I'm now rocking the GTs. I can crank them up to 1850rpm and have max. temperatures of ~65ºC (check my OCs, and the SLi), or get them to 900rpm-1200rpm for quiet operation when working. Usually, as I use headphones, I leave them at 1850rpm while gaming and I go to a lower 900rpm while working, since I preffer to work without headphones.

Fun fact, if I leave some papers on top of my 800D, they can levitate. Imagine how powerful the GTs are.
