I just did a clean install of W7x64 Pro. My M/B bios was set to AHCI during install. My current drivers are M/S were installed during installation. I visited Gigabyte site for my M/B to look at the drivers. I can find the latest chipset drivers from Intel listed as 9.3.0.1019.

Gigabyte lists the SATA AHCI drivers as a SATA/Raid drivers as Intel 8.9.0.1023 that is a Intel SATA AHCI Controller that cross references to be a Intel Matrix Storage Manager. I am not using a RAID setup.

Are thiese the correct drivers to update to or should I just leave it alone?

Do I have to do anything special to install the drivers like reinstalling W7 or just install the drivers?

Since you stated you were already running in AHCI when you installed Windows - all you need to do is install the RST drivers. I'd install the intel INF Chipset drivers first - then install RST - then reboot. You will need to reboot a second time.

Enjoy!
