as the title states im looking to buy a new gpu, im moving on to different games and my old HD 5770 probably wont last to much longer it was fine for WoW and fine for league but im going to be buying battlefield 4 pretty soon so im looking actually at 2 cards, the GTX 760 and the R9 270x. ive been looking at some benchmarks and in them the GTX 760 out preformed the 270x how ever is the price to i guess you could say FPS difference worth it? sorry if there has been a million 760 vs 270x threads i really just cant tell the difference. also is the 270x worth it becuase its newer? heres my current specs.

Yes, the 760 would be better over the 270x however, it's also a $60 price difference as you can get a 270x for $209.99 and a 760 is $269.99. But since your goal is BF4 I would go with the 760 and the 270x won't run it on full settings let alone very well so it'd be worth $60 more to upgrade.

But really, neither of those cards would run BF4 on full settings so that points moot.

the gtx 760 is faster than the r9 270x, but you are paying (depending on the day) $60 more....i have the msi gaming r9 270x, because i did not feel the $60 was worth it...the gtx 770 would be my choice if i had the $....i read one review, at 1920 x1200, the msi r9 270x was equal with the 7950 boost at the resolution...if i had the bucks, i would get the r9 280x......but not now, i feel its overpriced....its has went up tremendously in the last couple weeks.....i am somewhat at a mystery of why the problems with video cards now, getting them....the 650 ti boost, not available ...the r9 270x msi gaming i bought, not available many places...the r9 280x , just became available again, but hugh markup...the video card market lately have not been in the consumer side lately...

I would look at a 670, 760, or 680. Find a used one with as much vram, within your budget. Should be in the $200-250 range.

If you prefer new, I think I saw a 760 somewhere for $200 after rebate.

If you are looking to buy new, a sub $200 R9 270x or 7870 is hard to beat price/performance.
Price really ramps up fast from there.

If looking used, a GTX 670 for GTX 660(ti), 7870 are all good options too

2GB GTX 760 or a 270X.

Or step it up $50 and go for the 4GB 760.

Unless there is a plan to SLI, 4GB on a 760 is kind of a waste.
You'll run out of compute before vRAM.
also now you are only $30 from a 770, which would provide way more of a boost than the extra vRAM
