someone made the comparison once that getting your name in gold as top cruncher of the day was like getting to wear the special leaders jacket they have in the tour de france. the cyclist who wins each leg gets to wear the leaders jacket for the next leg, something like that.
so we started calling it the "gold jacket"...dorky name, but everyone wants to try it on anyway

Actually the analogy is a little off, the yellow jacket is for the overall race leader.
