1: take out of puter
2 put in platic bag
3: put in freezer for about half hour
4: should be able to just twist it off then (underline should)

The best method I have found is as follows;
1. Place video card in a ziploc bag
2. Place both in the freezer for 30 minutes
3. Remove from freezer
4. Using a putty knife or flat screwdriver, gently pry the heatsink from the GPU. (make sure you have remove the push pins that hold the heatsink to the card)

I have done this to 1/2 dozen cards w/ no mistakes.
Good Luck.
