Without sounding too stupid (luv being a new member..hehehe)
How do I wipe my HDD properly? It's got win98 on it.
I have never had to do it before.
Thanks.

One: welcome to the forum

Two: Wipe as in formating which is deleting everything on your hard drive.

Before you do this MAKE sure you have the full version of win98!!!

Well first back up everything. Don't forget to backup your bookmarks, and emails on outlook if you use it, and your other docs.

after you back up everything,

put in your boot disk, and restart. do command only and type in format C:

Once its formatted, restart and choose something with cd support.

after it does its test, it will say what your temp cd drive name is.

and type in D:setup (or whatever is your cd drive) and that should be it.

That should be it!
