I am getting about 600 more points with the 12.90 drivers versus 12.40. I think Nvidia is on the right track !

I get 6144 on mine. Have you thought about lowering the multiplier to 10.5 and running a higher FSB? This will get an even better score for you.

OMG they are some seriously high scores! I haven't even heard of >6k scores on 3DMk2k1 !

Well done people, I have a system quite like urs and I only get 5000 marks at default. Im confused. It must be the extra 200-300Mhz faster processor.

I just wish I could see the benchmarks on that Kryotek GF3 I saw the other day clocked to a whopping 300Mhz Core and an even more amazing 600Mhz RAM speed w/o artifacting. They were using the best A5 stepping and the best 3.8ns Elite RAM though.

Damn, just the thought of a GF3 hitting those speeds makes me chill :)

I see threee reasons why we can get to 6000 + scores and your at 5000.

1. We have the extra mhz (300-400 more).
2. We are overclocking our Vid cards higher (235/550 vs 200/500)
3. The new 12.90 Drivers are getting me more than 600 points higher then 12.40.

I have seen some people in the 8000-10000 point range with 3dMark 2001.
They have P4's running at over 2ghz though and Geforce 3 's too.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I only get about 3900. Anyone have any tips for me to make my rig faster. My card won't let me tweak my memory clock over 458MHZ, but the graphics clock I can, If I turn up the memory clock my screen goes crazy. Here are my scores.

hmmmm, That seems pretty low for a Geforce2 Ultra.
You may have a defective Vid card if the Memory wont go higher then that.
I hear most Geforce 2 Ultra have 4ns memory and some have 3.8ns memory and should be able to hit 500mhz.

Which drivers are you using?
I have found that the 12.90 beta's give me the best frame rates and benchmark scores.
Also are you using the Nvidia overclock utility built into the drivers using coolbits registry hack? Or are you using the utilities that came with the card for overclocking?

You are better off using the Nvidia Drivers overclock tool with Coolbits hack,
IMHO at least.

I just figured it out! You have the 6.48 Drivers! No wonder!
Go get the Nvidia 12.90 Drivers from here......

thanks I'm downloading now, and I was using the utility that came with the card.

Do you have the coolbits hack to enable the overclock tab in the Nvidia Geforce setting tab? if not.. get it here...

I would also uninstall your cards stock utilities and drivers before you loead the 12.90's.
1. Change you drivers to Standard VGA.
2. uninstall stock drivers and utility.
3. install new 12.90 drivers.
4. Double click on Coolbits reg hack to load it, then go to Nvidia Geforce tab, additional properties, Overclock tab should be there. You will need to test new settings then hit apply.

That should do ya!

Dude I have a question, I did everything you said and the coolbits don't work. Where the hell does it say what drivers your using? I only see 4.12 or something and the coolbits is in my reg because a checked with regedit but I don't get the extra tab. HELP

This is my score with the new drivers, but I still don't have coolbits.

Craig,

Were you able to get the Coolbits reg edit working to enable overclocking?

If so, did that help with your overclocking the memory higher?

And what score after overclocking do you get?

I'm using the new drivers and overclocked the card's core/memory to 300/500 and these are my scores, seems low for a 1200mhz and a ultra card.

And I have another dumb question can I keep my card at these Frec. or will they make it to hot and fry my card? I've got good case cooling CPU runs about 42C at idle.

Craig,

That score is very Good actually for a Gf2 Ultra.

You can run your card that high, shouldnt be a problem. If you get lock-ups or visual problems, then back the Core and Memory down by increments of 5.

Well, see! You went from 3900 to 4500+ !! Thats a 600 point increase! Not bad!

Also, Remember that the ONLY reason my score is so high is because I have a Geforce 3 (235/550) and I have a little faster CPU (1466mhz).
