2400 ram for a10 setup?

Most available RAM should work but sometimes you have to set timings manually.

I bought Kingston HyperX Beast 2x8Gb for mine. I can't see your link at work so I don't know what you linked to. I like the HyperX stuff...seems to work very well.

In the link there is TridentX 2400 CL10 which is actually cheaper than Kingston and has tighter timings.

From other kits these are good but some cost more:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313323 ( probably Samsung if they didn't change this series to Hynix MFR )
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313322 ( this one just because I have it and it's running really nice on both Intel and AMD @2600+, Hynix MFR )

Many 2133 kits are as good as these 2400 but I see that prices are about the same if not higher for some series.
I could also recommend blue ARES 2133 CL9 but TridentX 2400 CL10 is cheaper ... weird prices.

nice thanks for the feedback. that gives me a good amount to go off of. i did come across these though: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820144617

i would like faster speed do to the apu but i think eventually a gpu will go in...for around the same pricess should i pass up double the ram?? pretty hard to find anything on those sticks though so might be too big of a gamble :/ just a thought.

edit: ugh for that price i just couldnt pass them up....i saw you reviewed the 2133 and they looked promising...and everything i've seen the evo veloce seem to be hynix. 1.5v cas9 1866 i should be able to get to at least 2200 right? anyways i got jumpy on the trigger once i realized how good of deal they are at 90 bucks. just hope they work out. thanks for everything :D

also for zee quest for ram i found this lil gem for anybody looking: http://www.frys.com/product/7299003?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG they're the kingston 2x4 2400 predator(just google the model) for 63 bucks shipped. but be warned frys takes foooorrreevvver to ship stuff and i dont have the patience :D.

I'm not sure what is in these Geils but I wouldn't trust in that 1.5V as their many other 1866+ kits were barely stable at 1.5V stock timings. Still it looks like a nice deal if it's making 1866 9-10-9. I'm just not sure how it will OC. Geil don't really have many reviews in the web and there are problems to get anything from them for tests.

I also found something like this:

i gambled with them. ill see what they do and what they are. im pretty sure at that price worst case i can turn them on CL or just eat the RMA. i think at 90 bucks its a gamble with an upside :D worst case ill be back reading this thread over again haha

well the stick check out as advertised :O

thing is though i bought a discrete gpu in the mean time. i can't build a rig without gaming i shoulda known. anyways gonna turn the a10 into its own tower and try to sell it and keep these sticks for the cpu/mobo im gonna buy(e3-1230v2/asrock z77)

thing is i got them on hell of a sale. they are now 140 bucks x.O but they do check out x.O

Better get i5 3570K than xeon. At least you will be able to overclock it and I think it won't cost much more. Also on IB you can set memory to command rate 1N/T and with some luck it should run @2133 or higher without issues.

yeah it's either the 1230 or 3570. still deciding on HT+more l3 cache vs clocks :/ hopefully i can get it all together sooner than later. thanks for everything :D
