5870 or 6870

I can get either one of these card on the same price. Which should I get? Most people say 5870 is stronger but 6870 is the way to go for future proof.

i would go with the 5870 . as for future proof they both have 1gb of vram and both dx11 cards . so the 6870 wont out last the 5870 . if i rember right the 5870 wins and losses to the 6950 in benchmarks in the reviews. at the time of the relase of the 6950.

HD5870 is the better card of the two. It will outperform 6870 in almost every aspect, but will do so drawing more power and being larger in size. 6870 would be a better choice only if you plan to go crossfire.

If you can get both at the same price, get 5870. Normally it is next to impossible to get a 5870 for decent price since it's also one of the most popular cards for bitcoin mining.
