First I'd like to say that this process scared the hell out of me. After all the videos I watched, everyone had a loud pop. Not me. My delid sounded like I was crunching the PCB. I just said eff it and pushed through it hoping nothing went wrong. Once I finally felt no resistance, I pulled the chip out and it was perfect.
iI am extremely satisfied with how easy it was and the temp drops I got. Anywhere from 9-19c depending on the core, but also my temps are more evenly spread across all 6 cores. I did reseal it, but only used a little permatex on the wings of the IHS. Where the motherboard clamps on to the CPU.
Tested stability and temps in OCCT. Also, when I previously tested in Aida64, my 4.8 PC would throttle. Now, its rock solid in Aida64. Hands down the best mod I have ever done for temp.
