No, die shrinks just reduce the cost of a chip and what can be included in that chip. It's still beneficial, but not as much as it once was.
You know, I didn't think that Intel had to take that out of their compiler? I wasn't aware of that aspect of things. I thought the court case was purely based on their sales/rebate practices where they'd withold the rebates from anyone who sold AMD CPU's instead of just Intel chips.
