Just curious, since I have been out of the game a while.

Last I remember ARM had some NUC style desktop parts. Is there any HTPC style setups yet based on ARM?

Looking to get people off my desktop and ditch the laptop running my Living room TV. No one else really needs a "gamer" minus a browser based one. So a low power arm file server/ HTPC would be idle I think.

Would need to support at least dual display and multiple SATA ports.

Does that economically exist yet?

im sure you looked but i cant find a arm based board that is cost effective with 2 sata ports. ones i did find, i didnt think they were cheap enough. it seemed like you were better off buying a NAS box and using a Rassberry PI 3 or ODROID-XU4. if you didnt need 2 sata ports i would suggest the Odroid HC1(2.5in 15mm max thickness) or HC1(3.5in or 2.5in). i havent looked into it but im sure there would be way to share the drive on the network and still use it as a HTPC, use the micro SD card slot for booting into the linux or android os.

after looking around, seems like the best option for the price is one of these in a Mitx box.

Hmm, okay man thanks! I was kind of hoping someone had to decided to build one. Kind of a desktop chromebook.

LOL That board has USB3 display port AND Parallel and Serial ports!!!

That's cool. I shouldn't be surprised. I kept a PCIE Parallel and Serial card just in case i needed it someday.

I actually use equipment at work that connects via serial still not a db9 port but a proprietary one. We have a handheld unit that connects to it via serial, then we download info from that over usb/wifi/and supposedly bluetooth, but good luck with the latter.

I did think I read something about an ARM SOC that would run 12watts that could handle HTPC duties.

At this point I am just going to have to look at those boards you posted for me.

Thanks Again
