I am building a custom case for my computer.

However, I have not been able to finalize my design due to uncertainty with cooling.

I plan to have CPU and GPU specific cooling systems

Namely for my CPU I already have:
https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/Categ...2018)-120mm-Liquid-CPU-Cooler/p/CW-9060036-WW

And I plan to get something for my GPU.

But I want to keep the ambient temperatures of the computer itself fairly cool as well.

I was wondering if using this would be a good idea:

If not could someone provide an alternative solution?

Hello,

1st we dont know the hardware that you are using, neither the design of your case to properly advise you.
2nd that solution is not necessary or easy to use for what you want, that's a TEC/Peltier which uses 72W by itself, Peltiers are not efficient.

So tell us your HW, and shows us a basic draw of the case you are going to build, and tell us your specific objectives so we can help you.

I can't really give you a basic draw of the case as it is dependent on cooling solutions. However I can give you a link to something that is approximate to what it should look like:
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=2AM-0080-00001

My current hardware is:
AMD FX-8350
M5A97 R2.0
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
24.0GB of Dual-Channel DDR3 (I can't remember the exact make)
a 3TB Hitachi HD, and 2x 2TB Seagate HD

but that hardware is very likely to change as much of it is quite old. I was not planning to directly cool the hardware with the refrigeration unit. As I mentioned I have my https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/Catego.../CW-9060036-WW for my CPU and I plan on getting something similar for my Video Card.

I realize that the TEC/Peltier is not efficient. Efficiency is not my goal, effectiveness is. I can always design in an additional power source. My question is would I be able to achieve superior cooling with Electronic Semiconductor Refrigerator Radiator unit versus using a more traditional fan cooling system intake system exhaust system. Or perhaps to use them in conjunction.

I am also willing to hear alternative solutions.

Sooooo what is the tec going to go on? What is your idea??? This sounds convoluted just to cool......the motherboard??? Not even sure... sorry.

I think what he wants is to create a temperature inside the case lower then ambient temperature. Sorry tho disapoint you mate but you would need to insulate your case leaving only the cooling tower and fan outside, and you would still have to worry about condensation. And further more 72W wont do the trick for that.

I believe Storm Chaser uses TECs for a sub ambient custom loop. You're going to be much more efficient chilling the water, but it probably won't mix with SFF because so much insulation is required to combat condensation.
