I haven't build a computer since grade school, and my build finally crapped out on me after 6 years! Now that I'm starting college I need a new desktop and I found a motherboard I like, Asus Maximus IV Hero 1150. However when I went on Newegg to purchase it, I noticed the accepted ram goes 3000(O.C.)/2933(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2600(O.C.)/2500(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333. What does the (O.C.), I know it means over clock but if I wanted to drop 2400 Mhz ram would I just need to change voltages or what? Thanks

I have overclocked my old computer, which was a 3.0Ghz Athlon to 3.8Ghz. So I sorta know how to overclock but not fabulous

It just means that it is above the JDEC spec for the memory and the memory controller for the CPU. Haswell shouldn't have any issues at 2400 so essentially loading the XMP profile would/should work.
