Automating OCR and Data Storing Process

I am trying to scan a very large amount of documents (primarily business cards), to retain and organize soft copies of the originals.

I wish to acquire, store, and organize the images of the scanned documents, as well as the recognized text from the documents after performing optical character recognition.

What software is recommended to achieve the desired results?

I plan to acquire a business card scanner such as .R.I.S Executive 2 USOA448 (recommendations on scanner also welcome).
The software need not be freeware.
