I stopped by Radio Shack to pick up some audio jacks and the PCB for the CMOY I'm building and figured I'd grab some silver solder while I was there. I bought two types cause I wasn't sure which I should use. So here's what I picked up:

Which should I use for my CMOY? I'm not sure which would give me the best performance, being new to the whole DIY audio scene.

Korndog's right :) Just a note though, the radioshack solder seems to eat tips... I use their silver solder + their 30w soldering iron + their 15w tips and they get eaten by the solder very quickly :-/

I'm not TO worried about it. My dad has this Weller PU120 that I use. He has about 34 spare tips from back when he worked for Hewlett-Packard and they supplied him with parts/accessories. I won't be using the silver solder TO much, so eating this tip away any time soon doens't seem to be to big of a problem yet.

Solder has no bearing on sound quality. Unless it's made of wax or something. Standard 60/40 is fine.

See, I told you so ;)

Use some Kester and some flux remover when finished soldering and you will have something that looked like it came from the factory.

Yeah, eutectic solders are nice, but not necessary. If you have no solder, some 63/37 is a good investment, but if you have 60/40 lying around, just use that.
