Coolbits just auto-deteced 710/930 for my 7900gtx 512, you think it'll stay that way?

I haven't got 3dmark06, etc. installed but I did install Coolbits. Before overclocking, I turned on Quake 4, put it on Ultra settings at 16xAA and ran it for a lil' while. When I exited, my temperature hadn't even reached 50c, I think it was like 48c,

So I'm about to do some benchmarking and check for errors/snow/geometry, etc. in 3dmark06 and several games.

Coolbits always detected the best settings for my 7800gtx but sometimes it would go higher and few times it needed to go lower because my case temps.

So you think the memory will stay at 930? :D
Edit:
I have to reinstall everything because last time I installed Windows, I made a dumb mistake and had two IDE HDDs hooked up and neither had jumpers in them, and somehow Windows installed some important files on at least two of my HDDs so it wouldn't even boot. That's fine though, as I was planning on formatting for the arrival of the new card anyway. So I'll get 3dmark06 installed as soon as I can get it downloaded :)

Wow, I played FEAR for about half an hour at 2048x1536, 2xaa, max settings (except for soft shadows/shadows) and when I got done, my card was at 52c, lol. My old 7800gtx would have been in the mid 70s, lol :D at lower settings

Nice card, but make sure that you're not seeing the temps even a few seconds after you exit the game, once you exit a game the temps will plumet around 3 degrees a second.. Run something like ATITool 3d display while the temp monitor is open and after about 10 minutes those will be your true load temps. Of course 53C or w/e is not unbelieveable and if those are really the temps you need to get some water on that baby with a volt mod and see how far it will really go!

Just as an idea, these cards have reached 1Ghz core, so you may still have a lot of headroom, who knows

There is a program called NVtemp logger or something like that.

Can't find it though, ya'll know the name of that program? It always worked flawlessly for me? :)

BTW, I don't think I should use an ATI program to watch my temps, because we all know those 90c ATI cards, j/k
Ah, hah, found it! :)

Now, if my card is staying this cool, can I overclock it more? I bumpbed the memory up to 712/931 and everything is running smooth as butter. :) I just don't know where to stop. I gotta install BF2, because THAT game knows how to show you if your OC is too much :D

Here's the NVTempLogger thing I was talking about.

Ok, I logged the temps while playing a COD2, a game that always sent my card into the high 70s, and the hottest it got was 68 (I think that was when I threw about 6 smoke grenades and the FPS dropped to about 15 or so, hehehe)

I was playing at 2048x1536 at 2x AA with the highest settings the demo has. I usually play the game at 1600x1200 or so, but just to see how hot it could get, it set it at that. :)

This was at 715/933 which equals Here's the actual log, 715/1866 :D

Who needs that overpriced XFX Extreme OCd one when you can do it yourself and get better results and not have the skipping problems they are having. I love eVGA :D

New 3d Mark06 score is 6159 3DMark06 at the 715/933 setting. :) I think I'll just leave it at that :D

The hottest the card got at that was 64C

Ok, I know this is probably going to sound like a dumb question, but an OCd card couldn't cause this to happen, right? Some of the NPCs would be standing still, floating, or just repeating the same action, over and over again, and then at the end of the demo, your general guy didn't show up so the demo didn't end on its own.

So this is just a bug with the demo, right? :)

That sounds more like an issue with the demo. However, I have come across some instances where drivers can cause issues with games including that which you described. I wouldn't put it down to, exclusively, the OC. That may have something to do with it.

Unfortunately there can be so many variables in the PC that it could be hard to determine the actual cause of this problem. If it really bothers you, you're just gonna have to troubleshoot. Uninstall/reinstall the demo. Drop all OC's parts back to stock and see if it still happens.

I doesn't do that in any of the other games (any weird glitches), well, except for Battlefield 2, because we all know that it is not actually a game, it is rather just a 5gb glitch that you load every now and then to play online and show others glitches, :D

Thanks for the information :)

Ok, ran BF2 on highest settings, 4x AA (highest in game setting), at 1600x1200@70z. The highest the temps went was 66 :D Still at the same, stable clock of 715/933 :)

Oh, and I don't think the FPS ever dropped below 80fps, but maybe the did, but they were usually pegged at 100. :santa:
