***Cooler Master GeminII S524 user's review***
I wanted a small compact computer which I could take with on the road occasionally without the bulk.
My E8400 is kind of dated in the Cooler Master 360 case with the original GeminII heatsink.
Well, I like the CM360 case. It's small and it supports a fullzise ATX motherboard.
Today I'm going throw in the Z68H-UD3H with a newer Cooler Master GeminII S524 which I paid for $34.31 tax included + free shipping.
System spec:
CM 360 case
CM GeminII S524 (it has 5 heatpipes and a 120mm PWM fan)
120mm PWM Arctic Cooling fan (use for air exhaust)
92mm fan (attached to side door for air intake)
Giga Z68H-UD3H
i7-2600K
8GB (2x4GB) G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL RipjawsX Red
GT 220 1GB DDR3 (I probably put a GT 240 1GB DDR5 in a near future )
2TB Hitachi SATA 6Gb/s
Samsung DVD+/- Writer with Lightscribe
Sony multi memory card reader
400W Antec Neo ECO 400C Continous Power Supply
OK, this is a user review so be disappointed as there won't be other coolers for comparision.
This is how it looks like with the E8400 and GeminII....before the surgery.
Voila! It's magic!
Getting started...dismounted the D-14
GeminII S524's 120mm PWM fan rated 800~1800rpm; 34.2~77.7CFM
Side View
Bottom......heatpipes very nice fit and finish.
Smoothness and Reflection
8GB (2x4GB) G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL RipjawsX Red rated 1.50v
GeminII S524 mounted
It fits.
Sure took alot of time to manage and hide all of the excess cables out of sight.
Case Frontal
Fully loaded with everything and ready to smoke.
The 3 tests were done with case fully enclosed with temperature monitoring.
Cinebench
IBT in progress...on 4th (maximum level, 5 loops, 8 threads)
IBT DONE
Prime95 sFFTs for 30 minutes in progress...
Prime95 sFFTs HALT at 33 minutes
WEI........not bad for a non gamer GT 220
Well, I like it. GeminII S524 can deliver 4.7GHz which is most of us would settle for a 24/7 system at around 4.5~4.7GHz
This is a kick butt product for around $35. Great for low profile HTPC systems and alike.
