Ok. I've been scratching my head far too long on this. Someone tell me if I'm missing something.

Option 1: CORSAIR HX Series HX850 850W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready https://www.newegg.com/product/9SIA85VATN9891?m_ver=1

Option 2: CORSAIR HX Series HX850 CP-9020138-NA 850W ATX12V v2.4 / EPS12V 2.92 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Power Supply https://www.newegg.com/product/N82E16817139203?m_ver=1

NewEgg show's over 1000 reviews for option 1 compared to the 24 for option 2 (both at 4/5 eggs). It also shows option 1 is nearly $80 more. Here's the thing. Option 2 seems like a much better PSU. Am I completely overlooking something?

If I'm a ditz and have had a major brain fart please don't hesitate to let me know. TIA. :)

Even though Newegg lists the first one as launching later (2019 vs 2017), I'm also under the impression the second one is actually the newer, current model. In fact, Corsair's site doesn't even list the 80+ gold version anymore.

That would explain why the first one has more reviews, it's been listed longer. Also it's being sold by a 3rd party, so it may not be the most competitive price.

Well, looks like my post didn't go through so I'll try this again.

I'm inclined to agree with you. I was finally able to find option 1 on Corsair after a Google search:

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categ...Supply-Units/hx-series-config/p/CP-9020032-NA

I still have to agree. I'll guess it is older and their website has it at $169.99 so clearly the third party is way over pricing. So, Option 2 it is! Thanks for your help!
