Been getting BSOD. Should I change MOBO settings to run the 1600, or should I take it back and get 1333?

That memory isn't supported by that motherboard...
Always check the QVL and make sure everything is compatible. So yes, get the 1333.

QVL, shmooeVL... it SHOULD work just fine. HOWEVER, if you want to be 100% sure instead of 99%, get something off the mobo's QVL list.
