CREATIVE X-FI XTREME GAMER NO SOUND :( XP

Ok, I wondered if anyone can help here for this pc, Its got a p5n-e sli motherboard and a CREATIVE X-FI XTREME GAMER sound card and OS is XP.

The problem is, I cannot get sound to work, I've replaced the motherboard once and also the sound card with 3 brand new ones, also I've reimaged the hard drive with xp pro and media center and still same problem, basically every damn thing looks okay... just no sound and the speakers work fine no doubts, tried and tested on other machines.

Ok so lets cut to the chase.

The on board sound = disabled
sound card drivers = installed
sound card tested in pci slot 1 and 2, no avail
driver im installing = http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppo...=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=0&x=16&y=5

I've actually had the sound working once, then when I restarted the pc the sound went, even though everything was still there , they was no sound

thanks for any ideas or help btw, could it be an irq conflict? hmmm

are you OCing in any way?

I had the sound drop on my P4P800 when I OCed. Imagine trying to trouble shoot sound issues stemming for an overclock.
