CRT calibration

How did you guys calibrate your CRT? I think my contrast/brightness ratio is screwed up and I can't find the one I like.

Thanks, it really helped me.
ViewSonic had a great little program which I used to calibrate my old monitor and my second monitor but they don't use it anymore for some reason.
Some colors are still to bright for me, for example I can't read your sig.
