Do You Hibernate or Shut Down your Laptop?

shut down completely... for a coupla reasons.

First off i have a dell mini 9 with 2gb of ram and a 8GB stec with a stripped down version of win 7 pro... (uses ~3.5gb fully updated, with areo, ms office 2003 etc).

Reasons i dont hibernate

1. Turning hibernate completely off (powercfg -h off @ a cmd prompt) saves a good 1.5-2GB of hdd space.... when you only have 7.5ish to play with... thats ALOT

2. Being that its a SSD... it boots wicked fast so hibernate is not needed.


And personally i have never liked hibernate...

Neither. I leave both laptops and on netbook running 24/7. No problems and I love not having to wait to check out information.
