My Benq DW1625 DVD burner will not read any CDs. Not blank or burnt or games. It will read any kind of DVD I can throw at it though. I can burn DVDs at will, watch movies, and read game DVDs. I'm confused. It just started happening maybe 2 weeks ago. I've updated and downgraded the firmware, uninstalled and reinstalled the drive. Anyone got any ideas??

The best way I can think of is try the burner in another computer, that you know reads CDs. No driver is needed as windows XP will set it up as a CD reader.
If system restore is turned on go back to before you had the problem and if it works the burner is ok.
