Error, Windows Media Player Crashes, this is what event viewer says under Windows/Applications:

Faulting application wmplayer.exe, version 11.0.6001.7000, time stamp 0x47919356, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a783, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000aada3, process id 0x984, application start time 0x01c93c56c086d009.

Any idea what this means? It crashes then i open it again and it works fine? This always happens the first time i open it after i boot up.

Vista 64. It crashes when i try to open it or click something that opens it by default. It only crashes the first time it tries to open after a boot up. I also get this error when Internet explorer crashes on certain webpages as well:

Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47918f11, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a783, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000aada3, process id 0xde8, application start time 0x01c93c7a523551f5.

Windows says it found a solution and it is related to the Nvidia driver and that i dont have the latest version and to update. I am running the latest version though. Whats weird is when i first updated to the driver the problem stopped with the crashes , then it just came back and windows still thinks im running the old driver but Nvidia "System information" says i have the latest. So maybe the media player crashes are all related to the Nvidia driver and maybe the driver is reverting back to the older version some how?

problem solved. I used driver cleaner and reinstalled the new drivers and everything worked fine.:)

When it crashes did windows tell you a solution it might be related to? Cause it was my videocard drivers and my nforce networking driver causing the crashes

Next time it happens take a look the event viewer under Window logs/application and find the error right after it happens. Copy n paste it here. I dont think it would be caused by your cpu.

Fault Module Name: "Indiv01.key" Any idea whats this is related to? Thats whats causing your crashes. Im trying to find somehting similar on my computer , no luck yet. I dont know if that is relating to something in the "Windows" folder or the registry or even somewhere else. Maybe someone can chime in.

Try deleting all of the files in the directory C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\DRM. Don't delete the directory itself, only its contents. Once done, Windows will generate a new DRM key specific to your current hardware configuration.

May be caused by malware. I have seen a file name like that for third party programs, (for license key) but didn't for stuff from Microsoft.

There appears to be no such file or directory on Windows 7 SP1.
