Looks like the 480GB drive is sitting at the same price (still, strangely. Ok, it's about $1.50 more...) if you're really worried about RAID compatibility even though I'm sure it'd be fine.

I wouldn't RAID anything unless you deal with large files frequently... that said, the drives are fine.

Thanks freakdiablo, just saw that a few hours ago they lowered the price on the 480. I have a day or two, so I will keep watching all deals. I was really hoping for a ~500 for $50, but beggars can't be choosers.

EarthDog, for sure. I was reading a few articles on tom's and came to a similar conclusion. Thank you.

So far the 480GB seems like the best deal.

If I find anything better on SSD's I will try to post here.

True, but when most of the 1/2 eggers are saying the drive fails within a year I start to wonder what's the common thread

Edit: Also seeing the Adata 480gb SU655 is on for only a buck or so more on Amazon than the 480gb SU650, if anyone can dig through their sofa cushions for loose change it looks to be *slightly* faster.

ended up with what everyone else gets, the samsung evo. I am sure I am not the first to do this, but the raptor cradle makes an amazing adapter for SSD's.
