This doesn't include a $20 MIR on the PSU, a $12 promo code on the PSU, or a $10 MIR on the GPU, or the $5.92 shipping charge. Grand total for this is right about $900.

@ wonko - I am okay saving just a little bit here and there, I wont be burning anything besides cd's.

@ knufire - Could you post that link? And I have never heard of mushkin, how is their brand reliability?

It'll be fine. A lot of different SSDs are actually the same, there's only 3-4 companies that actually make consumer SSD controllers.

- Marvall
- Indilinx
- Sandforce

Pretty much all consumer SSDs are one of the three...exceptions are Corsair Neutron which is LAMD (who makes SSD controllers mostly for the enterprise market) and Samsung (who uses their own controllers).

Besides the controller, the only other major part of a SSD is the actual flash memory chips used, which again, only come from a few companies.

Sounds great! I just ordered that PSU. And I will order those bundles later. That makes the build out to be done, besides the monitor.

I was thinking about picking up the Asus VS247H-P 24-inch after seeing it mentioned on these threads as a well performing monitor for a good cost, although it seems a little dated, seeing as Amazon had it first listed in July 2011. Is it still a good monitor for this budget? Or is there a newer monitor in that price range that outperforms the Asus? (Price up to 200$ish)

Thoughts?
