fresh install, blue screen of death

So I just did a fresh install of win7 on my girlfriends pc.
I couldn't boot off the cd on her computer, would freeze halfway.
So I put her HDD in my computer and did a fresh install of win7. works fine on my computer, but when I put the hdd in her's it gets to the start-up logo and then I get the blue screen of death.
She has a 3year old dell. But it's more then enough to run windows 7.

i have tried doing something similar with XP, but it wouldnt even boot in the other system

i think it only works if there are similar specs...like the same chipset as windows probably configurs itself for the hardware its installed on ?

What is the error code and does it list any probable driver cause?
