Hey guys, I have 2 questions about my PC build. I will list you the components that I am planning to get, below:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-418-IN)

MOBO: MSI Z77A-G43 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-202-MS)

GFX: KFA2 GTX 760 EX OC (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-046-KF)

RAM: Kingston HyperX Predator 8GB (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-134-KS)

HDD: WD Caviar Black 500GB (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-392-WD&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=940)

Case: Zalman Z11 Plus (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-043-ZA&groupid=2362&catid=736)

Cooler: Thermalright Silver Arrow SB E Extreme (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-099-TR)

I am also planning to overclock my CPU to about 4GHz and I don't plan to run SLI.

So the first question is: What PSU should I get and how many Watts??
The second question is: What do you think about the components?? Do you think that I will be able to run most games on max, also will I be able to run Battlefield 4 on at least high settings? Also do you have any other suggestions about my built to make it better but not to raise the budget?

Please someone answer me. Thanks :)

Corsair, and 550W is plenty for that setup.

That said, assuming you are gaming at 1920x1080 resolution, I don't think a 760 will cut it for Ultra settings on BF4. You will want something faster... a 770 or a 7950/7970.

As far as the components, I can read them without the links,

Thank you all for your replies! I will probably get a caviar blue HDD and get the 7950. I dont need 1TB of HDD. I currently have 500GB and 1TB external HDD so I have plenty room available. Also I saw some reviews about the GTX 760 vs the 7950 and the difference is very little. I dont know about BF4 though.

BF4 favors AMD = False

http://techreport.com/news/24976/re...e-3-games-to-be-optimized-exclusively-for-amd

"Update: Frostbite Technical Director Johan Andersson has posted on Twitter that the IGN story is "not true." He says a statement is coming to correct the apparent error, but it doesn't look like the IGN story has been updated with a correction yet. We'll keep an eye on it and update this story as it develops. Thanks to TR commenter JohnC for the tip.

Update 2: The IGN story has now been updated with an official statement indicating that DICE's partnership with AMD "does not exclude DICE from working with other partners to ensure players have a great experience across a wide set of PCs for all their titles." Additionally, AMD says its Gaming Evolved program "undertakes no efforts to prevent our competition from optimizing for games before their release." Nvidia should have early access to Battlefield 4 and other Frostbite-powered titles, allowing GeForce drivers to be optimized before games are released."

Everybody knows the Battlefield 3 runs about 10% faster on Nvidia cards of the same spec as AMD cards. I bet this "mistake" was just to make sure those upgrading their cards don't all harken to Nvidia with the 760 having performance (and now price) parity with the 7950 (though your rebate follow through may vary).

SO: If you don't want to wait 6 months, save 30 watts on power draw, and likely still have an edge for BF4 performance: get the 760.

For your power supply question, looking at what's available at your store: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-099-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084

http://www.corsair.com/en/media/cms/manual/psu-spec-table-041913.pdf Compare the specs

IF you ever decide to add a second card, you won't have to drop another 74L and sell your 50L PSU for 30L. Or do watercooling, or or or... anyways, the extra 16 amps on the 12V line is totally worth it and gives you a better quality AND longevity in your PSU. Well worth 10% of what your CPU costs ;)

I just read about the PC that the BF4 will run at. It's all AMD. So I guess the 7950 will run it better.

Yes AMD Paid to have EA use their cards at E3 because they've lost the Battlefield discussion for 2 years and with the Battlefield community likely to upgrade for BF4, don't want their marketshare to sink in the cornerstone of gaming community that are BF players.

If you're all about battlefield Mario, and you absolutely want the best for that game, gonna have to wait till it comes out. If you want a safe bet now and tweak your system for the next two months: 760...

If you're not all about Battlefield, well, let us know what you are all about :D

(to fight off the flamers my graphics card life goes Geforce 3, geforce 3 ti, geforce 4, readeon 9700 pro, radeon 9800 pro, radeon x1950x, geforce 8800 gts, radeon 5830x2, radeon 5870x2, radeon 6950, x2, gtx 570.... CPU has gone AMD 1.4 thunderbird through 939 opteron to Core 2 E6 to E8 to I7-965 to I7-2600K ooo I gotta update my sig) So please don't start having fanboy or rose (bias) colored glasses arguments for one or the other, and lets help this brother out! :D

Thanks for the reply. Well I am not all about BF4. I just said that about BF4 because I know that is a very demanding game and I wanted to know if i could run it at least on high settings. If I can run that game on high then I can run most of the games almost on max settings. I just want a card that will run today's games on almost max and the tomorrow's games on high. :D But I don't want to buy an expensive card cause I cannot afford it. Almost all the benchmarks that I checked, the GTX 760 is faster than the 7950 and also cheaper.

BTW what do you say about this PSU?? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-048-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084
Is it good??

No, just posted where the games started, the OP can hit "next" on his own. As one can see, by your different link, they are close. I don't care who has what, I am posting the information for him to look at. TPU is one of my 'go to' sites. Didnt forget a thing....giving the OP plenty of information to make a well informed decision is my goal...

Why are people so quick to throw 'fanboyism' up for no reason?!!! Nobody was even going in that direction. Its like you have battered child syndrome and flinch at anyone's raised hand, LOL! :p :grouphug:

everything I've read on the 760 is it's a similar performance to the 670.
would the extra gig of vRam on the 7950 be nice to have? yep, is it necessary @ 1080p? probably not.
I don't see there being much difference between the 2 cards. I'd probably just get whichever is cheaper.
AMD gaming bundle should not be ignored either(although I don't see any bundles listed on that site)

BTW I have a 1680x1050 monitor and I don't plan to upgrade. for now at least. maybe in the long future.

Oh, and the GTX 760 it comes with a game bundle. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=XX-003-NV&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1830

^Answer Knufire's questions. He'll put a better build together for you.
One thing I will say is don't build an Ivybridge system. Haswell is newer and better and there's no reason not to build on it.

It's a good power supply, and I'm sure would power your build as it stands just fine (especially with your modest overclock). I would encourage, however, to spend the extra 14L on the 750 watt

Compare the specs page on both here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139040

You'll find 33% more 12V power for 25% more price. With that only being 14L, I can't stress how much of a relief it will be for you in the future knowing that ANY single Card solution (even the highest end) will not necessitate you having to REinvest in a power supply.

The CX 750, you'll notice is a bit bigger and 60% heavier. It's just a much higher quality than the 600 (which cannot supply the full 12v X46amps =552, max draw is 522, so really more like 43.5 amp 12V rail) While the 750 can supply its full rating, more efficiently. Like a good case or monitor, the power supply is something you shouldn't have to worry about upgrading as time goes on if you make a good, quality, forward thinking purchase intially: saving you lots of $$ in the long run.

So as time goes by and its four years from now, unless they drastically change the ATX standard: you'll CERTAINLY still be good instead of maybe?

Good job researching the 760 more closely as well.

What's your budget?

My budget is about 1000 euros. The build I stated is 846 pounds (974 euros) with shipping except the case. I will buy it from my country where is 75 euros so we end up at 1050 euros. I am from Cyprus so the shipping is a little problem. And I can only order from European countries because if I don't, I will pay extra taxes and it's going to be a lot for that money. That's why I want to order from UK. Here in Cyprus, we don't have all the stuff I want to buy and also is more expensive. If you can suggest me any other build from European countries at that budget please let me know. :)
