Okay... I'm using this board as the basis of my fileserver.
It has a bunch of (16 x) 3Tb drives on a hardware raidcard, but I (want to) run 4 x 8Tb drives on the onboard sata ports to backup the array, and the O/S is Windows 8.1 64-bit on an mSata card using the onboard slot.

All 4 x 8Tb drives appear fine in BIOS and I can get any 3 of them to appear using any combination of the SATA Ports 0-4 (Port 5 is taken by the mSata card) on the motherboard.

I cannot get all 4 drives to appear in Windows however at the same time.

BIOS is F22 if that helps, but I am struggling to solve this one.:bang head

Not sure whether it is board-related or Windows related, but would be nice to have all 4 drives available at the same time.

++++EDIT++++

Seems really odd to me, but after a few restarts, the 4 drives showed up in Disk Mgmt console and went normally from there... go figure.

Thanks for looking team.
