Hello need help with overclocking 6700k. the configuration is as follows:
Motherboard: Gigabyte z270p-d3
Processor: 6700k control unit, externally in perfect condition, but I do not know exactly where it worked.
I heard that any 6700k can take 4.4GHz stably, I wanted 4.4GHz too, but I ran into two problems:
1. On the motherboard can not set the voltage above 1.3V
2. There is no "AVX offset" function on the motherboard (or it is called something entirely different, but I was looking for it)
Now the frequency of 4.3 GHz voltage 1.28 in all tests of Prime 95 (small FFTs 41-128 2min / test) is stable, in aida64 everything is also ok.
Problems with AVX and AVX2 instructions.
I put the frequency of 4.4 GHz. Voltage 1.3v (above I can not put) Cpu Load Line Calibretation: Hight
I'm testing in Aida64 and Prime 95
First stress test Aida64: 18min worked without errors
Next in Prime 95, these are the settings.
Small FFTs min FFT size: 41K Max: 128K, minutes for test: 2min AVX512-Disabled (disabled by default) AVX, AVX2 on
through 1min 4-stream dropped off:

[Jul 31 18:56] Worker starting
[Jul 31 18:56] Beginning a continuous self-test on your computer.
[Jul 31 18:56] Please read stress.txt. Choose Test / Stop to end this test.
[Jul 31 18:56] Test 1, 400000 Lucas-Lehmer in-place iterations of M983041 using FMA3 FFT length 48K, Pass1 = 768, Pass2 = 64, clm = 2.
[Jul 31 18:57] FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
[Jul 31 18:57] Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
[Jul 31 18:57] Torture Test completed 0 tests in 1 minutes - 1 errors, 0 warnings.
[Jul 31 18:57] Worker stopped.

If your forum has already solved this problem, then please give me a link, do not send me to just search for this post. Thank!

You're over 90c in a 1 minute test?
You need much better cooling.
You should not see over 90c in a 2 hour test.

^This. Also, 4.4 GHz is a simple BIOS preset for your motherboard. The CPU Upgrade button on the MIT screen. Select 4.4 from the menu and Save & Exit. I would recommend walking back the vcore that board uses for the preset, though. And LLC should be fine at normal for such a small OC.

I wish my 6700k was like that. Turd did 4.3 at 1.45v. I got the 6700k made by a drunk guy on a friday at 4:58pm

But yeah 90c you are way to hot. even at 1.45v with a h100i gtx i was in the upper 60s under load if i remember right.

That's stress testing temps, with an ambient around 100F. Not optimal. LOL I have a 6000 BTU A/C unit coming this week so Happy Days! :D

To the OP, that's a cooling problem as has been noted. The last time I saw something like that the plastic was still on the heatsink.
