How many of you here are running 10Gb networks at home?

I am curious who here is running 10Gb networks at home... I assume you have some type of NAS bare minimum running Raid 0, 5, 10 to take advantage of the speeds...

I am running 1Gb @ home and haven't seen the need personally to swap. Just curious if anyone has and why.

I keep looking at it, then stop when I see prices still haven't started moving down yet. 10Gb could help even without raid, as sustained transfer rates on a single HD already saturate gigabit. Bonding gigabit connections would be the lower cost option there.

If you only needed 10gb between 2 computer's it can be done under $100 if you don't mind using sfp based cards. I just don't have a need. My western digital spindle drives max out around 125MB/'s when transferring files between disks.

i dont know if you saw my post but if you are considering 10gb i feel this is the best option (about $70 excluding switch)

you should get LRM fiber as it is the newest and not much more if any than SC fiber


Also i want to go 10gb for my file server because its not too much money and it would be nice to add 10gb when multiple people are accessing the server
