Look at the underlined part...I understand that HLDS In linux has a memory leak but what is bash and why is it taking up 50% of CPU power?

bash is the Born Again Shell (the shell that was an improvement of the original Bourne Shell, named after Mr. Bourne.)

I don't know why it's taking up that much cpu power. It's a basically ubiquitous shell that is very simple and not buggy. What's going on in your terminal atm?

Is the server running as a daemon in the background or in the foreground? If its in the foreground Could it be possible that a large amount of scrolling text is taxing bash?

Its just running in the forground...I dont know how to make it a daemon. its confusing.
