I am so confused about the different intel processors

I have searched around, tried to find tutuorials, tried to decypher the different model numbers, can someone please help me decide on a good gaming processor, or link me to a FAQ? I cant find anything that compares all the processors, especially the new ones they just released

Take a look here. You have almost everything tested.
For gaming you can take a look at this sticky.
But if you don't plan a monster SLI/tri-SLI of GTX 280 or CrossfireX of HD4870X2 usually a C2D (with some OC if you really need) is enough right now.

I know I definitely want quad core. I am prob goign to run dual GTX280s in sli. I will take a look at these links.

Do you already have a motherboard and memory? If not, with those dual GTXs, you may want to look into a i7 processor if your budget allows.
