I really don't have the money for a 2500k or 3570k. but I would be using this system for gaming. thinking 8GB memory, radeon 7850 card paired with either a i3-3220 or i3-2120

3220 is $130
2120 is $112.5 with sale on newegg
almost 9% cheaper
but is the 3220 9% better at least?

hopping the i3 and 7850 will handle crysis at 1080p at least at med

Just go with the i3-3220, it uses less power(55w) and its manufacturing process is 22nm which means lower temps.. Thats if you dont overclock alot! The ivybridge chips do get kinda hot when voltage is raised..

You can't overclock a lot, so that won't be an issue :D

I haven't used either one of the chips so I can't really help on that front.

ok, thanks, wish I could find benchmarks with this 3220. there isn't much out there yet on the web. Hopping it can handle crysis ok.
