dont you usually buy a new gpu when your current one is struggling with games already? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok then, we obviously have different tastes in games. If you don't mind, what was so terrible about the game?

The graphics and art style were so bad that I managed suspension of disbelief with that game. That was my main problem with it. It also had a pretty steep learning curve and certain later enemies couldn't be defeated without super moves which I had run out of by that time. Just a bad game IMO.

Sure looks are nice but I enjoyed the challenge, most games are too easy. You couldn't just shoot your way out of anything, strategy was very important. I also liked the hacking aspect of the game and upgrading to suit your style. To each their own I guess. I thought the graphics were fine, coming from the days of the original Doom this was a masterpiece.:thup:

This comment would make more sense if you were referring to...say a busted, unfinished, shameful games like Aliens Colonial Marines or Raven's Cry. Those are bad games. Deux Ex doesn't fall in that category. Tastes are subjective, and not liking a genre/style doesn't make it bad. I don't like LoL, but is it a "bad" game? Of course not, I'm just not Korean enough to enjoy it :p

how about grand prix legends? you snag the disk for.... $10 is the highest i've ever seen it, go to gpl links, snag the win7 installer, get it all shoved on there.
then the fun begins, get the 60 fps patch and all the mods.
I'm in the middle of the 70 can-am season now, a 1300 hoursepower flat 12 with some hydes the grip make it ripping good fun, and the 1999 graphics will make a 980 just overkill.

Thanks for the suggestion but I didn't buy an expensive GPU in 2014 to play a 15 year old game ;).

So only pretty games are good games? There's tons of fantastic games from years ago that'll you miss out on, and a lot of them can be modded to make them look better.

This thread isnt about what are some good games. He wants to see what his new GPU can do.

Dying Light would be a good game to try out that 980 on!

The graphics look good in that, but the gameplay looks a little repetitive. If you just want to see graphics and not games, I reccomend 3D mark. The basic version is free and it will still stress your GTX 980. http://store.steampowered.com/app/223850/?_ga=1.228783130.745107159.1424970658
Worth it to see it. Also, Nvidia has an Apollo rendering demo: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-maxwell-apollo-11-demo-download.html works only on GTX970 and 980. :) http://www.nvidia.com/coolstuff/demos#!/apollo-11
