I'm planning to go eyefinity with 6950s in CF.
My current setup:
CPU: AMD 720BE @3.4
RAM: 4GB mushkin DDR3
MB: Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P
HD: WD 640GB
PSU: 550w BFG
GPU: EVGA GTX260
Display: 24" Dell LCD ST2410b

Upgrading to:

CPU: AMD 970BE
RAM: 4GB mushkin DDR3
MB: Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P
HD: WD 640GB
PSU: Seasonic X750
GPU: 2x 6950
Display: 3x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236102

Will my current MB be suffcient for 2 6950s in CF. I ask because my MB says PCIe 2.0 and the cards say PCIe 2.1 also will my MB having 1 16x PCIe slot and 1 8x PCIe slot make a diff?

If I need a new MB anyone got suggestions for the setup I'm planning?

Welcome to the forums!

The PCIe 2.0 and 2.1 difference wont stop things working - the cards are backwards compatible so will work in PCIe 2.0 slots. As for the 16x/8x thing - I'm not sure if this will be a bottleneck, the 6950s are high end cards so I'll have to leave that for someone else to comment on.
