So I'm looking at getting this cooling kit & is expandable. I would like to add the EVGA Hydro Copper GTX 980 to it.

Alphacool Eisberg Complete Dual 120mm Liquid Cooling Kit - Black (11190)
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/2...Cooling_Kit_-_Black_11190.html?tl=g30c83s1593

But I need to figure out what exactly I need to get along with it to be able to add the GPU to the mix. I know I'll need additional tubbing, fluid, connectors etc. Just not possitive of sizing & what not. So any help would be great, this would be my first jump into liquid cooling.

Also as a side question would this unit fit inside in the top fan spots of this case Thermaltake Chaser A71 VP400M1W2N

Thanks again

1st off forget that Alphacool junk. No AIO cooling solution will be able to handle the heatload of a GTX980 dumped into it along with the CPU. Your best bet would be a custom water cooling solution and that ain't going to be cheap.

Also FrozenCPU is out of business.

Good to know...lol

So where would be a good place to look for a system and/or parts to cool both CPU & GPU? Brands whatever? What about a Swifttech H-240X?

Performance-PCS is our next stop and shop.

For that kind of money spent on a case, I would look at a newer friendlier water cooling case. Are you particularly looking at a full tower or the size don't matter? In the $150 range there are many great cases that can fit enough heat surface to get great temps while running silent at full load.

Are you willing to go custom? I would advise to do so but if its too much to handle, have a look at the XSPC kits with the D5 pump combos.

Yes I would like to stay with a full tower. I do like the Thermaltake Tower & have loved my Armor case & other ones I've used. You don't think a liquid cooling system (custom or otherwise) would not fit well in it? Looks to me radiator & such would fit in the top fan spots, no? Other ones I've looked at though are a Stormtrooper one & the big Antec v3 one.

Something like this work? can it expand for a gpu? Didn't see anything stating 1 way or another?

I would be fine with just piecing together a custom thing, just a little more work & since I'm not familiar with liquid cooling figured a kit system would be a good way to go.

The XPSC kit is a good starter kit, until you decide that you want to go all out custom. You will need more rad are to cool your video card, at least another 120 x 2.

So what do you mean, "another 120x2"?? Example? Like something labeled 240 (2 x 120mm) on that site? Also I'm not going to be overclocking the card much if at all, the CPU I will try & OC to get to 4GHz or as close as possible. Main reason for going liquid cooling is to avoid the jet engine I currently am dealing with while gaming. My current GTX 780 is super loud while gaming more so then any other GPU I've had in the past & so are the GTX 900 series.

Also just wanting to verify, the Thermaltake case I'm currently wanting, is it liquid cooling friendly or no? far as I can see it looks like I should be ok with space. But if not I am fine with looking at other options. Just really liked the features, options & look of that case.

If you decide to put you gpu under water, you need more radiator. A 120 x 2 does not have sufficient cooling area to keep both a cpu, and gpu cool. It doesn't matter if you overclock or not, it's just not enough radiator.

I'd avoid the Antec case, cable management is a nightmare. you can always shoot Cooler Master and email with any questions.

So what Radiator size would I need to support both the CPU & GPU?
Something like this? or still something more?

I had not skimmed over them though, but have read others on the web today. (luckily was very slow day at work so had some time to read.)

But I still am not sure on what size Radiator I will need for my setup yet... because I've read some that say 240 is ok yet some here said would not be enough. Have yet to find a straight answer about what would be goid. once I figure that out I think the rest will fall into place.

Skimmed over? What we usually mean is read. Read like it's a $800 video card you don't want to destroy. Should only take a few days.

yea, please READ!!!! don't be a me, fried lots of stuff before I learned that reading was cheaper than buying and testing.

Yes, sorry OP. I've been busy the last few days and so I'm catching up today.

As the rest have said, if you really want to go custom water cooling, you'll have to do your homework and we'll be there to assist you once you've done all that.

To help you get started, in the $150-$200 range, a Corsair 750D, 760T and 780T are all great cases to get you started for a CPU + GPU loop or even two GPUs. Another good one is the Phantom 630. These are the best full tower cases AFAIK for custom cooling that will fit the adequate rads needed for your setup. You still need to do the homework as I don't want to give you the easy answers. If you really want a huge case just because you're a overkill kind of guy and have deep pockets, have a look at the Corsair 900D or the Phanteks Enthoo Primo.

Thanks for replies... at the time I had read through part of those posts and skimmed others as I was not able to read. But I have read several other water cooling stuff. I understand what I want and what to do. Just not on the specifics of what exactly I need... I do more so now after reading more.

I've decided to just to water cooling on my c0u for now and I'll move up to cooling both down the road.

I did go with the cooler master storm trooper case.

Thanks again.
