Hi guys, awhile back you guys helped me build this set up below and now Im back looking for some advice on what to upgrade. Im looking to be able to play BF3 at max settings and something that will last for a few more years.

Here is my current set up....

ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX
AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz
OCZ Platinum 4GB DDR3 1600 PC3 12800 (Down to 2GB, 1 stick went bad)
HIS Radeon 4890 1GB
WD Caviar Black 640GB HDD 7200rpm
Corsair 650w PSU

What would you guys recommend me getting? I was looking at upgrading the CPU to either the (AMD Phenom II X4 980) or the (AMD Phenom II X6 1100T) The quad is a faster speed but the 6 has more cores. Which would be better? Also what else would you recommend me getting?

I would get the X6 if your board supports it. It seems like I was getting a CPU bottleneck on the larger maps with my 965 (only when running Crossfire, single card was being fully utilized). I did just order a 2500K though but I would think either an PII X4 and something like a 6950 or a 570 would max the game at 1920x1080. If you run 2 high end cards in SLI/CFX though I would get an X6, bulldozer, or i5/i7 to avoid bottleneck.

Basically, X4 if you are only running one card, X6 if you want to do 2 sometime. Your MB should support both so the main thing you want is CPU and a good GPU.
