M2A-VM - 2GB ram fine, 4 or 6 not fine.

So, I got a PC back from a relative and am upgrading it for my own use. The system had 2GB of DDR2 - 667 in it, and I had 2 more sticks of the same RAM, so I threw them in (after installing Windows 7). Once I installed the new RAM, I get odd distortions in the video, mainly when the screen greys out for UAC pop-up, or when the log in screen is shown. Also, the audio will not work. I tried each stick individually, they all work fine, but only one at a time.

It might be a Win7 issue, or maybe a mobo issue... dunno.

Any ideas?

The sticks were exactly the same?

Did you try lowering the RAM speed?
Did you set the timings manually for your tests?

Is RAM set to 2T ...?

Depends on which Port Elgin you are from
